MiDiccio is a dictionary you write yourself. It does not include built-in dictionary data, translation, or audio. It's a place to keep the meanings you looked up and the examples you encountered, in your own words.

Sync and backup
There are two ways to protect your data.
- Cloud sync (optional): Keeps your devices on the same OS in step, using iCloud (iOS) or Google Drive's private app folder (Android). Sync runs automatically at certain times, such as app launch, and you can also sync manually with the sync button on the entry list screen.
- JSON backup: Export all your words as a single JSON file from Settings. Save it wherever you like, and use it to move to a new device or between iOS and Android.
Sync keeps your devices matched to their current state. To keep a copy of your data as it was at a specific point in time, use a JSON backup.
Restore, conflicts, and deletion
- Restoring from a backup: Choose Replace (replace all current data with the backup) or Merge (keep current data and combine it with the backup).
- When the same word was edited separately: For both sync and merge restore, the most recently updated version wins.
- Deleted words: Restore them from Trash in Settings. If you use cloud sync, the restore is reflected on your other devices too.
Recommended protection
To be ready for a lost or broken device, we recommend doing one of the following:
- Keep cloud sync turned on
- Export a JSON backup regularly and store it off the device (iCloud Drive, Google Drive, a computer, etc.)
When you restore with Replace, words that aren't in the backup are removed without going to Trash. Before replacing, it's a good idea to back up your current data as well.
Offline-first
No internet? No problem.
